Flint Knapping w/ Doug Dahl
Two-day course designed to introduce students the use of stone tools and the creation of them in a survival or primitive living environment. Stones are one of the most highly overlooked survival resources, but can provide many advantages when a knife, axe or hatchet is not available. Will discuss, demonstrate and allow students to use stone tools like microliths, hand blades, hand axes, daggers, scrappers and drills to produce and number of survival resources. Students will create lithic tool kits based on the knowledge they gained. Students will have personal instruction covering the core fundamentals of flintknapping and troubleshooting procedures when working difficult stone. Students will walk away from this course with pressure flaking kits used to make hunting points, hand blades, microliths and all stone tools created. All materials provided, $175 per person.
