An axe is a must have tool for most Bush crafting or survival scenarios and should be a part of your survival EDC. Our instructors every day carry tools are a knife, folding saw, and a small axe. With some basic Bush crafting knowledge in these tools you can create almost anything that you need in the bush in order to survive in comfort and these tools will make life so much easier for a multitude of tasks. You don't need a large axe in order to take down larger trees because of the cutting efficiency of these types of axe heads, they will take care of all the basic tasks for survival. We don't recommend carrying anything larger unless you are in extremely cold alpine type environments where you have to process large amounts of firewood. The Condor is a great budget option and is very efficient for the money.
